Sandy and David Peterson are Tribal members and birch bark basket makers from Lac du Flambeau. Sandy and David are two of the few remaining basket makers available that use traditional methods including harvesting the bark to weaving lashings to construct the baskets. This 3 hour class will provide instruction on how to construct a traditional Ojibwe basket. All supplies and materials will be provided.
Class are held at the Woodland Indian Art Center (Next to the Goodwill Store), 562 Peace Pipe Road in downtown Lac du Flambeau. Fee is $50/person ($30 for Tribal members). Class size limited to 12 adults each class. Pre-register by calling (715) 588-1514.
