A visit to Firemouth Pottery allows guests to watch while potter Bill Karaffa works in his workshop. Various forming techniques are employed at Firemouth; wheel throwing, slab construction and extruding. While Bill uses all of these techniques, the majority of his work is thrown on the potters wheel. Bill also demonstrates his carving technique used to create Northwoods Landscape Pottery he is so well known for. A visit to Firemouth Pottery is an insightful and educational experience for visitors of all ages. Bill’s finished work is also available for sale as well as your viewing pleasure.

Take the challenge and paint on location (Plein Air)! We meet Thursdays at 8:30am, June through August, for painting or drawing in any media. Participation is FREE and open to summer vacationers as well as the local artists. Our only rule is to respect each other, the locations that we visit and the hosts that invite us. Beginners to professionals are welcome.

Northwoods Outdoor Artists is offered by the Manito Art League; donations are appreciated. Our first Plein Air Exhibit will be Aug. 14-21, 2010, at Koller Library in Manitowish Waters!
